Sainte-Lucie Jour 6

St-Lucia / Day 6

Tea time. It's such a British tradition. I love it and I actually look forward to it everyday around here. Everybody stops at 4 pm to have a cup and a light snack, usually something sugary, but they have small sandwiches or hors-d'oeuvres too. Suzanne says it's  just perfect to hold you until diner time and that it makes you eat less at diner. Me? Eat less? I don't think so, unless you feed me the whole tray of said sandwiches and the accompanying pastries, then it might make a dent in my appetite...

We've tasted the local beer here (Piton) as well some hot pepper Indian Sauce they make on the island...nice! I'll try and bring back a bottle or 3 from the local supermarket. And rum. We're in the islands man, ya gotta have some rum. Bringin' back some of that too.

Oh and to please a few of you jealous people, we did get about 45 minutes of on again, off again rainshowers this afternoon, at 4PM, LOL ! Perfect timing to sit in the open-air restaurant and enjoy afternoon tea...and sandwiches....and pastries...is it diner time yet?

And for those interested, you know that scuba diving is now an inherent part of any vacation down south for me. This morning was a single tank dive at 'La Roche' just about 15 minutes away by boat. 55 feet for 45 minutes or so. Saw my first moray eel. It's basically a big, mean, ugly, fluorescent lime-green colored snake that doesn't wanna play nice. You just look. You keep away from the hole it's head is sticking out of, unless you don't like your anatomy as it stands.

Last 2 tank dive lined up tommorrow morning. The scuba staff is taking us to Anse Cochon for a reef dive first followed by a wreck dive on the 'Lesleen M' (Google her, lots of info and vids on Youtube). It's a return trip for me since this is where I did part of my certification last Tuesday. On my return around 13:00 we hit the local tax-free shopping center. Suzanne will then attempt at making up for all the lost time on the beach this week...how much are we allowed to bring back ? Thank god Canadian Customs has a lower limit then Uncle Visa does!
